LVP Award(Least Valuable Player)

This award is in memory of Nader Hafzalla and will be given to the player who scores the least amount of points for his team. In Nader's two year reign on the Young Coptic Ryder Cup squad, he was unable to gain a single point but looked good doing it. Therefore, the winner will receive the Plaid Jacket which will be passed on for years to come.

FRIDAY, FORMAT, & SCORING.

The people have spoken,

Friday:
It seems like there is enough interest to play 9 holes on friday starting at 4:30. This will probably be a portion of the singles matches with the rest of the singles matched being played on saturday afternoon. The cost to play the singles matches on the Torch Lake Course will be $15.

Format & Scoring:
I am not sure if the negative feedback was to my proposed scoring only or to both the scoring and playing a best ball (non-scramble) round. Clearly, nobody(except for me) likes my proposed must score bogey/double bogey to win the hole system. The idea of having a best ball round is an attempt to speed up the pace of play. We frequently play best ball matches during the summer and the pace of play is fine (4-4.5 hours). However during the scramble matches during the Ryder Cup the last two years we have had rounds that exceed 6 HOURS. The reason I believe is that the total number of critical shots is more in a scramble. This is my idea to speed up the pace of play. . . other ideas are welcome. . . Comments with regards to making one round a scramble and the other round a best ball. . . .

The teams are still not finalized (until we know how many guys are coming)

Those interested on going on a 1 night 2 round trip to lakewood shores in mid April, please reply. The cost will be aprox $120

What to expect from the Juniors.

Before I start I want to reassure our teams love and respect to Mike Bishay. Mike Every member of your team will get the same love so that you do not feel left out.

Well Gentlemen there has been some talk about who is going to take the trophy home this year. This is a crucial year for both teams. Whoever wins will prove their domination. Obviously we know who that will be “THE SEASONED TEAM”. I will prove my theory and what is soon to be a fact with hard evidence using documented material.

The first piece of evidence Mike is scoping the hole to determine what kind of club and swing to use

While doing so Mike gets a weird feeling and a warm sensation in his privates so he decides to piss. While psychologically analyzing this behavior it has been determined that some species use this methodology to determine their domination of a given place.

Mike sets up and takes a massive swing. OOOOps I think he missed it. Still sitting on the tee.

Moment of disappointment

In a moment of temporary insanity Mike challenges Mark to a club Fight. He does not take into the consideration that he falls in a lighter and less experienced weight bracket.

Mike goes for Marks Hamama (AKA Wiener) while Mark goes for chest hit and kill…..

Mark drives away a winner….

I think the documented proof speaks for itself. So the question stands: What are we to expect Mike to bring to the course this year in support of his team.

Reminder of the good times last year and a Trivia

Thanks to Mark Michail for planning this every year. If you do not know Mark, here he is.

A couple of Pictures I had from last year. If you have any send them to me I will post them.
Trivia:

If you know who this person is and where he got the hat he's wearing you will be entered into a special drawing for a special gift at the end of the tournament.

Notice the bag of Cheetos behind Andy..

By the way I have a statement to make, If you come out there and decide not to Golf it better be for a good reason, like your nut got stuck in the ball washer or something. No excuses this year we are considering reducing the number of rounds. But other than that looking forward to another fun Coptic Ryder Cup.

Testing

just making sure it works

Wednesday, February 7, 2007

A-Ga-Ming It is.

I have booked A-Ga-Ming for the Coptic Ryder Cup III for June 1-3, 2007.

At this point it looks like we will have two four-bedroom condos (8 guys each) on the Sundance Course and one two-bedroom condo (4 guys) on the Torch Course.

We have tee times on Saturday morning on the Sundance Course starting at 8:50 a.m. and starting at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday at the Torch Course. In addition, we have tee times for Saturday afternoon at 4:30 on the Sundance Course for an optional 9 holes ($25). On friday afternoon we have tee times starting at 4:30 for 9 holes ($15) on the Torch Course.

Saturday evening @ 7:30 pm we will be having a Burger and Brat cookout at the clubhouse of the golf courses.

There has been some interest in making this a US v. Canada contest. I will be honest and say that I am interested in such a format but not in this event. I am more than willing to help plan a US. v. Canada or Michigan vs. non-Michigan tournament at some other time in the summer. What does everyone else think?

I need feedback with regards to the two optional rounds (friday 4:30 and saturday 4;30) How many are interested? Should it be part of the tournament? How about we have some people play friday and some people play saturday? How about making those the singles matches?

In memory of our dear friend Nader Hafzalla, we will be honoring him in some way. Please feel free to provide ideas/thoughts etc.
